A core value for The Summit Counseling Center is availability! When people need help, we want to be available to help them and we want our services to be available and affordable for them. Through The Summit's Client Assistance Fund, we are able to provide clients with a subsidized fee that makes counseling affordable to those who cannot pay the full fee.

However, in this economic climate, our funds have been severely strained! Beginning in September '08, we saw a monthly increase in several key indicators:

• The number of people applying for Client Assistance Funds has increased each month.
• The number of people who are unemployed applying for Client Assistance Funds has increased each month.
• The average copayment affordable for people using Client Assistance Funds has decreased each month (meaning the amount we must subsidize must increase).
• Because people are delaying health care needs in this tight economy, we are seeing people who needed to get in much sooner. Consequently, it is taking longer to treat them and using more resources.

Please consider supporting the 3rd Annual Summit Golf Classic! The Golf Classic is the largest Summit fundraiser of the year and the proceeds directly support the ministry of the Summit and our Client Assistance Fund! We provide faith based counseling for people from all walks of life for a variety of issues from marital crises to career crises, including substance abuse issues, children and teen issues, parenting problems, and grief, loss or trauma.
